Peter Occhiogrosso
Peter Occhiogrosso has over 30 years’ experience as a professional writer, coauthor, and editor. He helps coauthor works with a wide variety of public figures, spiritual teachers, and prominent thinkers—highly accomplished people who want to write a book but don’t have the requisite writing experience. Peter has written two books with talk show host Larry King and coauthored the autobiography of rock icon Frank Zappa (The Real Frank Zappa Book) and cabaret singer Michael Feinstein. More recently, he completely revised and rewrote the manuscript of an important new book on the treatment of arthritis by Vijay Vad, MD, a leading sports medicine doctor at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery, entitled Arthritis Rx (Gotham Books) Peter has written several books of his own about the varieties of American spiritual experience, including Once A Catholic (Houghton Mifflin/Ballantine) and Through the Labyrinth (Penguin), as well as a popular guide to the world’s religions entitled The Joy of Sects (Doubleday/Image). And he has coauthored or assisted a number of writers with books in the spiritual field, including Caroline Myss’s Why People Don’t Heal and Sacred Contracts (Harmony); and Ron Roth PhD, with whom he coauthored a series of books on prayer and healing for Hay House. Three of the books Peter coauthored have become New York Times Best Sellers. Peter has authored or coauthored 14 books and assisted on or ghostwritten another 6.
Currently Peter has just written the text for a book of photographs by the internationally renowned photographer Allan Tannenbaum entitled Grit and Glamour: The Street Style, High Fashion, and Legendary Music of the 1970s, to be published by Insight Editions of San Rafael in October 2016. The book describes in words and pictures how New York City’s music and nightlife influenced fashions, from street style to Halston and Betsey Johnson.
And he is working with highly regarded psychotherapist Mel Schwartz on his forthcoming book applying Quantum Physics to everyday life and relationships, entitled The Possibility Principle for Sounds True, scheduled for Spring 2017.
